EXPLORE ANCIENT SHAMANIC PRACTICES
The modern shaman
Shamanic wisdom that had been carefully guarded for centuries within Indigenous societies is being
disseminated to a receptive world that urgently needs it
.
The call to mastery
The shamans I studied with in the Andes say that if we master how we see ourselves, the events in our lives, and our relationships with others, we can start to dream a new world into being.
The four directions & challenges
You will learn to work with the wisdom wheel and its four directions—South, West, North, and East—each of which is associated with an archetypal animal and a sacred journey.

What will you dream into being?
Spirit is always attentive to our longings—that is, what we want for ourselves. However, we have to be willing to let go of our flawed beliefs about what’s best for us, as this almost always involves trying to fix or repair a fate handed to us at our birth.
Only when we start to awaken the master within can we step out of the nightmare we have been living in— the one scripted by fear and a scarcity mind-set that keeps us focused only on “me and mine” in the here and now. We can do so much better.
We can step into a destiny infused with meaning and purpose. We can become healers, explorers, sages, and visionaries, if only we will work with ancient technologies that burn away the old to make way for the new.

About Alberto Villoldo
Before his travels, Alberto Villoldo studied the human brain at the University of San Francisco. He studied how to keep the mind, brain and body healthy and how diseases develop. It was clear how psychosomatic diseases can be caused. But how can the body, mind and spirit be healed.
These considerations led him to search for alternative views. Views about space and time that were different from ours, Western ones. So he began to research cultural differences in the perception of space and time.
He eventually left his laboratory, packed his bags and traveled to the jungles of the Amazon. In the course of his travels, he met many shamans in the Amazon the Andes, Africa, Indonesia and Brazil.
He met people who heal the body and maintain health using only the power of their spirit and herbal remedies.
He learned a lot from them, first as a medical anthropologist and later as a student of the shamans.
